Description: 4-Hydroxycoumarin is a coumarin that has been found in C. corniculatus. It inhibits vitamin K1 epoxidation and prothrombin synthesis by 18 and 67%, respectively, in cell-free assays when used at a concentration of 6.2 mM. 4-Hydroxycoumarin has been used in the synthesis of anticoagulants, as well as antithrombotic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antifungal agents.
