Description: Carbenoxolone sodium is a synthetic derivative of glycyrrhizin and inhibitor connexins and 11β-HSD. It is used to treat ulcers and inflammation but also displays other biological activities. It suppresses gap junction communication, delays onset of EAE in vivo, and decreases infarct volume in models of cerebral ischemia/reperfusion.
