Description of GDC-0917: GDC-0917 is a small-molecule peptide mimetic of SMAC/DIABLO, a key regulator of apoptosis (programmed cell death) that is designed to directly antagonize inhibitors of apoptosis proteins (IAPs). A Phase I clinical trial evaluating IAP antagonist GDC-0917 for solid tumors or lymphoma is ongoing.
